Following Snap’s recent unveiling of its next-generation AR Spectacles, Meta has decided to
launch its newest artificial intelligence (AI)-powered glasses with wearables partner EssilorLuxottica, promoting the Meta-branded product with media personality and socialite Kylie Jenner.
Despite being created in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, and built on the same hardware platform as the Ray-Ban and
Oakley smart glasses, “Meta Glasses” mark the tech giant’s first pair of AI smart glasses unattached to an established third-party brand.

On Tuesday, the company unveiled various Meta Glasses styles -- the Fury and the Adventurer, starting at $299. An additional pair co-designed by celebrity Kylie Jenner called
“Starfire” costs $399.
According to Meta’s Vice President of Wearable Devices Minga Hua, Meta Glasses
feature similar features as the company’s previous smart-glasses products, such as a multi-array microphone setup, spatial audio, and 3K video cameras. With a multitude of colorways and
materials, consumers can choose between 26 different product style options.
The Meta Glasses are powered by “Muse Spark,” the first model developed in
Meta’s Superintelligence Labs.
With the company’s AI assistant being powered by Musk Spark, Meta is attempting to deliver an enhanced user experience to include dynamic
photos, pedestrian navigation, and expanded live translation capabilities.
As a promotion tactic, Meta co-designed
a pair of glasses with Kylie Jenner that feature exclusive add-ons, such as a small gem in the right corner of each lens, a metal adjustable nose bridge (meant to be easier to clean makeup off of),
and the ability to select Jenner’s voice for Meta AI spoken elements.
