
Rising interest in all original “creator”
content has now been estimated to have a 26% share -- or 1.7 hours a day -- of total daily viewing total TV/video time, according to estimates from Media Dynamics Inc.
The media
consulting/publishing company estimates total daily time spent with -- from all platforms now 6.7 hours for persons two years and older.
MDI adds that 68% of premium traditional video content
-- 4.6 hours per day -- still resides with linear TV and streaming platforms.
Linear TV is at 35% share of daily viewing time, with streaming platforms at 33% and “other”
professional made video content at 6%.
The company also estimates the media age for “creator” content is 21. This compares to an overall daily video viewing median age of 48.
Linear TV users are at a median age of 61, compared to the median age for streaming of 43.
President of Media Dynamics Ed Papazian adds in a press release: "It should be noted that the sources
for this kind of information — mainly device usage — take no account of those times when the ‘viewer’ is absent or is present but paying no attention.”
