The Home Depot has tapped Christine Foster as general manager and
vice president of Orange Apron Media, the company’s retail media arm. She replaces Melanie Babcock, who left Home Depot last October to join 1-800-Flowers as chief marketing and growth
officer.
Foster s currently group vice president of commercial strategy and operations at Kroger Precision Marketing, where she has led the grocer’s insights, digital advertising sales,
incentives and operations teams. She will report to Molly Battin, Home Depot’s senior vice president and CMO.
Foster will lead strategy and growth initiatives for Orange Apron Media and
oversee OAM’s strategic direction and operations, beginning Sept. 9.
Foster’s “deep experience, paired with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and
driving measurable growth, makes her the right leader to grow Orange Apron Media into an even more powerful engine for our brand partners,” Battin said in the announcement. “Her vision and
leadership will help us accelerate our strategy and unlock new value for the brands and customers we serve.”

While the retail media network landscape is still dominated by Amazon, with
$19.8 billion in the recent quarter, others are fighting hard to keep growing, as the industry moves from gold-rush status to consolidation.

Supermarket News recently reported that while Amazon continues to dwarf other retailers,
both Kroger and Instacart deliver higher ROI. They also outperform Walmart and Target.
Kroger is also leading in terms of investments, up 54.2% over last year. Target is the next biggest
gainer, at 23.4%, followed by Walmart, up 23.1%.
Each network keeps looking for ways to stand out from one another. Home Depot has made a splash with Orange Apron InFronts, a first-of-its-kind
retail marketing summit that brings advertisers, brand marketers, tech partners, and media and press partners together.
