Agency SOS, Trantolo & Trantolo 'Power Wash' Public Safety

Personal-injury advertising isn't known for subtlety.

Agency SOS and Trantolo & Trantolo took a different route: Bringing a safety message to the streets.

The new work "Power Wash Facts" turns sidewalks, intersections, parks and other public spaces into real public-safety messaging. The medium: reverse-graffiti power washing and chalk stenciling.

Rather than painting messages onto sidewalks, specialized equipment removes dirt through reusable stencils, revealing temporary safety reminders that fade over time. Crash statistics appear near busy intersections. Motorcycle facts along popular riding routes. Even simple reminders like "Look Both Ways Before You Cross" become relevant pieces of outdoor media.

The firm practices in Connecticut, Long Island and Massachusetts.

The campaign combines TV spots, connected TV, online video, social media teasers, influencer content, outdoor advertising, and an guerrilla street activation. Hip Cat handled production.

"Personal injury advertising has become remarkably predictable," said John Kovacevich, founder/creative director of Agency SOS. "Everyone is competing to be louder than the next attorney. We asked a different question: What if the advertising actually made the community a little safer?"

Statistics are drawn from publicly available regional, state and national safety data, including the Connecticut Crash Data Repository.

"This campaign only happened because the client embraced an idea that was genuinely different," Kovacevich added. "Most marketers say they want breakthrough work. Trantolo & Trantolo actually bought it. They understood that sometimes the most memorable advertising doesn't look like advertising at all."

"We're known for helping people after serious injuries," said Scott Trantolo, CEO of Trantolo & Trantolo. "But if we can help prevent an accident before it happens, that's even better."

Agency SOS's creative work includes Anchor Brewing, Juggernaut Wines, Gametime and Kodak.
