OMD Continues Roll: Zooms With Zoombak, Picks Up Armour-Eckrich

OMD unit is on a bit of a roll. On the heels of last week's global consolidation of Intel's media planning and buying business at the Omnicom flagship, the agency has quietly picked up several other new accounts bringing its global new business wins to more than $1 billion over the past six months.

Recent unreported wins include U.S. media accounts for Zoombak and Armour-Eckrich.

Billings for the assignments could not be discerned at presstime, but OMD was awarded communications planning, investing and digital responsibilities for Zoombak. Zoombak, a satellite-based tracking system for pets, had previously been handled by Interpublic's Initiative unit.

Armour-Eckrich, whose brands range from lunchmeat and franks to smoked sausages, bacon and pepperoni, tapped OMD for media planning.

The new business wins follow news that OMD dominated the Gunn Report for Media's annual compilation of creative media awards (including Media magazine's Creative Media Awards) for the second year in a row, and the announcement that it had raided highly regarded Initiative Worldwide executive Alan Cohen to become CEO of OMD USA.
