Online video platform Brightcove this morning announced the formation of the Brightcove Alliance, a global network of leading technology and distribution partners who have integrated with the
Brightcove online video platform, as well as solution providers building Web sites and video applications using Brightcove. The goal of the new alliance, Brightcove Chairman-CEO Jeremy Allaire said,
is to provide online video distributors with greater access to a broad range of expert partners, "pre-integrated technologies" and services to support initiatives of any size and scope.
The formation of the alliance follows October's launch
of "Brightcove 3," the most advanced iteration of the online video operating system, which includes a rich set of open applications.
The new alliance initially will launch with more than 90
partners covering a variety of online video applications, including creative and interactive design, advertising networks and server technologies, delivery and distribution, analytics and audience
measurement, social media and community building.
In early 2009, Brightcove said it will introduce training and certification programs for partners as well as channel reseller opportunities.
