The Wall Street Journal announced that DAVID FORGIONE will join the publication as Eastern regional advertising sales manager. Forgione will oversee advertising sales for the entire Eastern region. Forgione was previously a group publisher at Primedia for Motor Trend and Automobile magazines.

SUSANA WILLIAMS has been named Western Sales Director of Interevco. In this newly created position, Williams will oversee all advertising sales and marketing efforts throughout the western region on behalf of Interevco's online client roster. Williams, who was most recently Western Manager for Interevco, will also supervise Interevco's San Francisco office. Prior to Interevco, Williams served as strategic alliance manager for Classmates.com.

Cossette Post has appointed LANCE SMITH President and Chief Operating Officer of the agency. He will be responsible for the agency's total operations. Smith was most recently President of D'Arcy New York and served as Global Client Managing Director for Procter & Gamble.

Mediamark Research Inc. (MRI) has promoted several senior executives in its sales department and expanded their responsibilities. MIKE DRANKWALTER has been promoted from Vice-President, Electronic Media, to Senior Vice-President, Media Sales. In his new role, Drankwalter will be responsible for all of MRI's Magazine and Electronic Media clients. Starcom MediaVest Group has added DAVID MEAD as Managing Director of Halogen Chicago. Mead will work on Disney, Phillip Morris, and Gateway accounts and assist in new business development. He comes to Starcom from mdigital, a division of MindShare Media, based in Ireland, where he was managing director.

MARC SMALUHN has been named Senior VP of Sales at ADTECH. Smaluhn assumes worldwide sales responsibilities for the technology provider in online marketing.

WALTER RODRIGUEZ has been named Regional Director Advertising Sales, Sony Pictures Television International. Rodriguez takes on the responsibilities of supervising all on-air advertising sales strategies and initiatives as well as overseeing annual billings for SPTI's wholly owned networks and channel investments in Mexico. Most recently, Rodriguez served as Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of MindShare Mexico.

Google has appointed JANE BUTLER to head up their travel category. Butler is responsible for driving the strategy for both advertising sales and product development with travel marketers company-wide. Butler joined Google from LastMinuteTravel, where she led global sales and marketing as president.

Meredith Corporation announced that BRENDA SAGET DARLING will become Publisher of Traditional Home magazine. Saget Darling most recently held the position of Vice President/Publisher of Conde Nast Publications' House & Garden where she was responsible for sales and marketing of the magazine.

MARC EDWARDS has been named senior vice-president, marketing at Spike TV. Most recently, Edwards was the General Manager for Emerging Media Ventures, a consulting firm providing services to media concerns operating in the new media area. Edwards assisted USA Interactive in the development of e-commerce initiatives to the telecommunications and Sports Media industries. In addition, he established the US Sales and marketing functions for ExtendMedia, Canadian-based interactive TV and Web design firm.
