    Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz has been tapped as Obama’s post-presidency top advisor. Schultz has been on Obama’s staff for the past six years. He will help develop Obama’s public profile post-presidency. He will also be in charge of defending his legacy and coordinating with Democrats in Congress and outside groups.

    Although Trump has settled some legal and regulatory disputes hanging over him, he will preside over policy decisions that will affect his own businesses. And there is a big concern that he will "use the presidency for self-enrichment,"says Robert Weissman, president of the advocacy group Public Citizen in an interview with NPR. When it comes to the ethical issue and any appearance of impropriety, Walter Shaub, director of the Office of Government Ethics, noted: "Nothing short of divestiture will resolve these conflicts."
  • Anonymous Warns Trump It Will Release Damaging Info
    The hacker and activist collective Anonymous has warned Donald Trump he will "regret" the next four years. It followed Trump's "fake news" response about a report by a British spy. Anonymous vowed it will release damaging information on Trump’s activities and finances linked to Russia. It promises to reveal details on “financial and personal ties with Russian mobsters, child traffickers and money launderers.”
  • Clinton Global Initiative Closes New York Office
    After a damaging general election campaign for the Clintons, the Clinton Global Initiative will close its doors. Ed Henry told “Fox & Friends” that according to a filing, the Clinton Global Initiative will lay off 22 people and close its office in New York. While this doesn’t mean the entire Clinton Foundation will shutter, it is a sign it may change how it operates.

    Outgoing President Barack Obama held his final press conference on Wednesday. Despite an ominous future for the Democratic Party, and other groups around the country, Obama had some uplifting parting words. “At my core, I think we’re going to be OK. We just have to fight for it, work for it, and not take it for granted. I know that you will help us do that,” the president told reporters gathered in the White House press briefing room.
  • Trump Won't Move Press Briefings After Press Outcry
    After outcry from the press, when reports surfaced that the Trump White House would consider moving the press briefing room away from its home in the West Wing, Trump announced the room would stay where it is. He did, however, break with tradition, saying he would choose who got access, not the White House Correspondents Association. “They'll be begging for a much larger room very soon, you watch," said Trump.
  • President Obama Commutes Chelsea Manning's Sentence
    In the last few days of his presidency, Barack Obama decided to commute the 35-year sentence of Chelsea Manning, an army private imprisoned for leaking classified information. Manning is scheduled to be released in May. "The president has been judicious about using this authority in a way that he believes is consistent with American interests and the pursuit of justice," said Press Secretary Josh Earnest.

These other, unconfirmed dossiers, are also said to allege connections between Trump and Russia.
  • Confidence In Trump Transition Sinks
    Donald Trump will become president Friday with an approval rating of just 40%,  according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, the lowest of any recent president and 44 points below that of President Barack Obama, the 44th president. As to one of his signature campaign promises: 44% say it's likely that Trump will be able to build a wall along the border with Mexico, while just 29% believe he will be able to get Mexico to reimburse the U.S. for it.
  • Peter Thiel Plans Bid For California Governorship
    One of Donald Trump’s top surrogates and Silicon Valley investor Peter Thiel is apparently planning to run for Governor of California. The Libertarian, who was an early supporter of Donald Trump, hopes to break the tradition of Democratic leadership in California. The next statewide election takes place in 2018.
