Nike Extends Deal With WNBA

  • July 26, 2009
Nike and the WNBA have extended their 12-year-old marketing partnership, which began with the league's inception. The new multi-year deal gives Nike courtside signage and advertising blocks during WNBA national game telecasts on ABC, ESPN2 and NBA TV.

Nike will feature its WNBA players in advertising and promotional campaigns for the brand. Also, the 43 WNBA players who have sponsorship deals with the company will wear Nike footwear on the court during WNBA games.

Nike also will feature the Minnesota Lynx's Candice Wiggins in a program called Delicious Training, which is designed to inspire teen girls. The campaign launches next month with advertisements in Teen Vogue, highschoolsports.net, Seventeen Magazine, and seventeen.com, along with exposure on nikewomen.com.--Karl Greenberg
