The Arthritis Foundation and the Ad Council are launching a new PSA, urging people to dance away their arthritis.
The humorous spot, tagged "Movement is the best medicine," was created by
Young & Rubicam and is just part of a larger preventative initiative designed to "dramatically reduce the impact of osteoarthritis on Americans."
The campaign will also use radio, print, outdoor
and online ads to encourage Americans to "get active and take other steps that will help reduce the pain and disability associated with arthritis," reports the AF.
Already the most common cause
of disability in the U.S., affecting 46 million people, arthritis is expected to become an increasingly serious problem, both as Americans age and as a result of rising overweight and obesity rates.
The group estimates that 67 million people will be affected by 2030.
