Airwalk, a youth-focused skate gear and lifestyle apparel brand has teamed up with Brooklyn-based creative agency, Project Fathom, to produce a documentary film, titled Already Famous, and launching a summer-long celebration of the urban skate community in New York.
Already Famous has created social networking platforms, an interactive microsite and a series of summer events designed to raise awareness of urban skate culture in the NYC boroughs. Throughout the summer, Already Famous will document several urban skate ambassadors and well-known skate community advocates through video, imagery and word -- all of which will be shared through the site and chronicled for the documentary film production, which will premiere this fall. Additionally, outdoor video wall projections, murals and postings will be placed around the city all summer to celebrate the urban skate movement.
“Airwalk has a strong tradition of supporting all kinds of emerging skate communities,” said Bruce Pettet, President of Collective Licensing International, which owns and manages the Airwalk brand. “This expanding urban skate movement is an important story to tell, and Fathom is the perfect partner to chronicle the many inspiring stories and faces of urban skate.”
