TWC Uses Food Trucks For All-Star Promotion

With their growing popularity and geographical reach, food trucks may not have even reached the first inning of their marketing potential. Time Warner Cable (TWC) may establish a template as it takes a swing with them to promote its link with the coming Major League Baseball All-Star game.

During the week the game is being played in the city, TWC will send trucks co-branded with MLB around New York next month. The food will carry a ballpark theme, and sales will be given to charity.

The trucks will offer foods linked with particular MLB cities, so “Taste of Kansas City” will offer BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and “Taste of Miami” will have fried fish sandwiches, etc.

In addition to Manhattan, trucks will have stops in Queens and Staten Island. The game is slated for Citi Field in Queens.

TWC is the WiFi sponsor of MLB All-Star Week, and the trucks will offer a surrounding hotspot.
