Lexus Mixes It Up With New Site

Lexus has launched a website and interactive promotion to promote the 2014 Lexus IS sport sedan, which has just launched. The Flash site, "Amazing Mix" centers on a video board featuring the car, where users can use their keyboards to make custom mixes with visual. The mixes can be saved and shared via the user's social channels. 

The site splash page launches a film that appears on the site will also be used at trade shows and events, per San Francisco-based agency Attik, which is AOR for Toyota's Scion unit, but which also does work for the automaker's other brands. 

A mobile HTML5 version also lets users manipulate content. The campaign, via San Franciso-based Attik, drives people to the site with banners. 

The site's promotional aspect with an Aug. 5 deadline, offers a shot at tickets to the 2014 Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival, plus accomodations and a $2,000 or a $500 cash prize. 

Said Lexus Corporate Marketing Manager Brian Bolain. "'The Amazing Mix' allows users to infuse their own identity into their video and share it with their friends. We're already seeing some amazing mixes."

Early in July the company launched another keyboard-based program that lets users choose the engine, exterior colors, interior appointments, and customization packages around such options as telematics, performance and interior and aftermarket choices.
