Havas WW Taps Ogilvy Creative Duo For Reckitt Duties

Havas Worldwide, the flagship Havas creative shop, has tapped Dustin Duke and Jon Wagner as Group Creative Directors for the New York office. Duke and Wagner will oversee all work for the agency’s Reckitt Benckiser account that is led out of New York.

Word of the move comes amid a creative review by the client for brands including Air Wick, Clearasil and Finish. Havas is defending.

Duke and Wagner join Havas Worldwide from Ogilvy & Mather, where they created campaigns for American Express, IKEA, Coca-Cola, and Time Warner Cable.

Their work at Ogilvy included the American Express "Animals" commercial featuring Ellen DeGeneres, which earned them an Emmy Award for Best Commercial, one of three Emmy nominations they have received in their careers.

They have also won awards from Cannes, The One Show, Art Directors Club and D&AD. Duke and Wagner's work is also showcased in the permanent collection of MoMA and Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.

The two creative veterans joined forces at Interpublic’s Lowe and Partners in 2004, moving to Ogilvy in 2005.

The talent shift also comes in the wake of a flurry of management changes at Havas. Just last week, the holding company confirmed that CEO David Jones was stepping down. Yannick Bollore succeeds him as CEO of the holding company and Andrew Bennett steps up as global CEO Havas Worldwide, a post that Jones also held.

Reckitt spent about $400 million on measured media in U.S. in 2012 according to Kantar. Other Reckitt brands include Nurofen, Mucinex, Scholl and Lysol, among others.

Last month the consumer goods company also completed a global media agency review and shifted the U.S. assignment from ZenithOptimedia, part of Publicis Groupe, to Dentsu’s Aegis Media. Global spending by the client is estimated at $1.7 billion.
