A Brave New World... Of 360-Degree Immersive Porn On Smartphones!

I can almost hear the collective sigh of relief. Our long national nightmare is over: We finally have fully immersive, 360-degree interactive pornography on our smartphones. My friends, there will be dancing in the streets – and much of what follows will be viewable through a simple swipe-able interface.

VirtualPorn360.com heard the voice of the people and responded with the first commercial app for 360-degree adult video for virtual reality devices and smartphones as well as PCs. Furthermore, the app allows individuals and producers who shoot immersive adult content using cameras like Google Jump or 360fly to upload that content to the VirtualPorn360’s Web platform.

As with other types of content, the emergence of immersive cameras will likely create a whole new standard for pornography. After all, there’s no point in an immersive experience that focuses on the bored sound guy and the intern standing next to an industrial barrel of lube -- people want spectacle! And instead of those old-fashioned cut-and-edit orgy scenes, the whole event will now have to be orchestrated and acted without pauses or post-production, creating a much more authentic experience for viewers.

As VirtualPorn360 notes, “Thanks to this technology and for the first time in history, the viewer can focus on specific details of the scene to which they have never paid attention before.” But will actors and directors be up to the virtuoso demands of this new format? That remains to be seen.

One thing is certain: We have the technology. One of the leading 360-degree cameras, 360fly, is coming to big-box retail through a partnership with Best Buy. Beginning in September, Best Buy will begin taking preorders for 360fly, which will sell for $399 at around 900 of its locations nationwide.

Porn aside, what about hospital and police procedurals and Game of Thrones clones....
