Tony Hale Aims To Help Subway Revive Lunch Breaks

Tony Hale of "Veep" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks" wrote and stars in three new #SaveLunchBreak videos for Subway.

For the campaign, which was prompted by a Subway survey confirming that real lunch breaks have been largely replaced by desk lunches, the videos are being posted on Subway's Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat channels.

In the first one, “Sub-liminal Monologue,” Hale surreptitiously tries to plant the idea of going out for lunch in office workers' minds—resorting to spraying one with a water bottle when the sneakier approach fails.

In the other videos, Hale becomes a self-appointed "lunch guard" and commands office-bound workers to "go outside!" Those will be posted on the brand's social assets on Dec. 16 and 17, around lunchtime.

Charles Hood ("Freezer Burn," "Daddy's Girls") directed the videos. Subway's digital agency, 360i, and PR agency, Catalyst, worked on the campaign.
