NBC’s “Today” show continues its steady climb back to top viewing levels among broadcast morning shows.
For the most recent week, the
morning show scored its first weekly victory in total viewers, as well as key wins among TV news viewers 25-54 and 18-49 viewers.
The network averaged a Nielsen 4.7 million overall viewers, 1.8
million 25-54 viewers and 1.3 million 18-49 viewers, respectively.
NBC was up in all categories by 1% from the previous week.
For NBC, it was the first time in four
years that it has led in all three categories in a given week.
ABC’s “Good Morning America” was down 14% to 4.7 million overall viewers; off 17% to 1.6 million
25-54 viewers; and slipping 13% to 1.1 million 18-49 viewers.

Further behind -- but improving -- is “CBS This Morning.” It was 10% higher to 3.6 million overall
viewers; 8% more to 1.1 million 25-54 viewers; and 5% more to 758,000 18-49ers.
For the first quarter of the year, however, ABC’s “GMA” still leads all broadcast
morning shows in total viewers -- 4.99 million to NBC’s “Today”’s 4.82 million and “CBS This Morning” at 3.8 million.
“Today”
leads in main demographics -- 1.89 million in 25-54 viewers to 1.7 million for “GMA and 1.2 million for “CBS This Morning. NBC is also tops 18-49 -- 1.43 million to 1.27 million for ABC
and and 830,000 for CBS.
