Poynter interviewed a developer at Salon who discussed ad -ech challenges. He said bad ads routinely go through ad servers that claim to run checks: "Considering just how many malicious or badly
formed ads get through, it is pretty apparent they don't do much. The things that kill performance on a site aren't even the malicious ads. They are the broken ones," said Aram Zucker-Scharff.
