HomeAway is offering consumers the chance to make history as the first to sleep over in the iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower.
The Paris vacation experience will be given to four winners of a global contest. Contestants were asked to answer the question: What would you do if the HomeAway Eiffel Tower Apartment was all yours for a night?
The prominent themes emerging from the more than 150,000 entries received so far include romantic proposals, epic family reunions, landmark anniversary celebrations and enjoying the simple pleasures of life such as indulging in a delicious meal with French champagne, while taking in the beautiful sights of Paris from within the HomeAway Eiffel Tower Apartment.
“The enthusiasm from around the world for this contest has exceeded our expectations so far, and it has been exciting to see the creative entries flowing in and travelers’ desires to create unforgettable vacation memories,” said Brian Sharples, co-founder and CEO of HomeAway, in a release. “I never would have imagined 11 years ago when we founded HomeAway that we would be able to offer the ultimate vacation rental in the Eiffel Tower, and we’re thrilled to make this a reality for the lucky winners.”
HomeAway announced the contest’s panel of judges who will choose the final four winners. They include television host Samantha Brown, travel writer Pauline Former and Eiffel Tower Society Director Anne Yannic.
These three external judges join Sharples and Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Expedia, Inc., HomeAway’s parent company, along with other HomeAway executives.
The winners will be announced on June 10, the day the UEFA EURO 2016 tournament kicks off in Paris. The free overnight stays in HomeAway’s Eiffel Tower Apartment will take place June 23, June 28, July 4, and July 8.
