Not-for-profit assurance provider BPA Worldwide on Tuesday announced that it was approved by the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) as a validator for TAG’s “Certified Against
Piracy” Program. The TAG approval will enable BPA Worldwide to audit and jointly certify with TAG companies that meet the requirements to become a Validated Digital Advertising Assurance
Provider (DAAP).
BPA also offers audit services for companies participating in TAG’s “Certified Against Piracy,” “Certified Against Fraud,” and Inventory Quality
Guidelines Programs.
“The call for increased trust and transparency is growing louder. Organizations like TAG are making significant strides in improving the ecosystem,” Richard
Murphy, BPA’s senior vice president, technology assurance, told Real-Time Daily via email. He added that TAG’s programs, including registration, anti-fraud, anti-piracy, and
inventory quality are being supported by media buyers and sellers. “Signing up for these programs is a great first step; adding third-party certification brings even more credibility,” he
said.
TAG’s “Certified Against Piracy” Program, “Certified Against Fraud” Program, and Inventory Quality Guidelines were developed to establish accountability and
to cultivate transparency and trust in the digital advertising ecosystem. TAG was created by the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s), Association of National Advertisers (ANA),
and Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
TAG's work focuses on four core areas: eliminating fraudulent traffic, combating malware, fighting ad-supported Internet piracy to promote brand
integrity, and promoting brand safety through greater transparency.
