JWT Is Acquiring Digital Shop iStrategyLabs

WPP’s J. Walter Thompson has agreed to acquire Washington, DC-based digital agency iStrategyLabs. Terms weren’t disclosed, but ISL’s revenue last year totaled $12.4 million.

The agency, founded by Peter Corbett in 2007, has a client roster that includes Kroger, Medtech and USA Network, Facebook and Nickelodeon.

JWT said the acquisition would expand its real-time marketing and online-plus-offline content production capabilities in North America. Its staff totals 80.

ISL will continue to operate independently out of Washington, DC, with Corbett leading both DC and a new office within JWT’s New York headquarters.

Corbett will report into Stefano Zunino, CEO, The Americas and will work closely with Zunino and the JWT New York office led by CEO Lynn Power.

“With ISL, I believe that we will be able to deliver even more innovative solutions for our clients,” stated Tamara Ingram, JWT’s Global CEO.

WPP also owns digital agencies AKQA, Blue State Digital, F.biz in Brazil, Mirum, POSSIBLE, Rockfish, VML and Wunderman.
