MediaBrix Brings In $6.5 Million To Ramp Up Programmatic, Hires New President

MediaBrix, a mobile advertising company, just secured new funding and a new president.

The $6.5 million funding comes from existing investors Edison Partners, Revel Partners and new investor Horizon Technology Finance. It comes on the heels of a profitable second quarter for MediaBrix — based on earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization measures).

MediaBrix has grown its revenue 741%, with a 43% compounded annual growth rate, and generated more than $100 million in total revenue since its founding in 2011.

“With this funding, we will continue to ramp our programmatic offerings, invest in R&D and expand our data sciences team focused on consumer receptivity,” stated Ari Brandt, CEO and co-founder of MediaBrix. MediaBrix has raised $18 million to date.

The company has hired Richard Kosinski, previously the U.S. president of video advertiser Unruly, the recent News Corp acquisition, as its first president and Global CRO. Kosinski has worked in sales, marketing, and product development for several big media brands including Yahoo!, Quantcast, The Wall Street Journal, and CNET.

MediaBrix focuses on serving in-app ads without irreparably interrupting the experience of the user, reaching them at moments when they might be more emotionally inclined to pay attention.

The company is integrated with more than 1,000 apps to deliver messaging for brands such as Merck, AT&T, Hershey’s and Ford.
