Adam Driver to Star In Snickers Super Bowl Ad

Snickers, which has scored big-time with recent Super Bowl spots, is hoping that popular Millennial actor Adam Driver will continue the streak for the brand’s Super Bowl LI ad.

The Mars, Inc. brand revealed that Driver will star in the latest version of the successful, ubiquitous “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign, from BBDO New York.

No sneak peek of creative is being offered at present.

Snickers, an official NFL sponsor, did confirm that the new ad will be part of an integrated campaign “to reinforce the brand’s connection to hunger satisfaction throughout Super Bowl 51, various elements of which also will feature Driver.” Brand director Allison Miazga-Bedrick confirmed that efforts designed to engage fans will be in play “before, during and after” the game.

Driver, 33, was best known for his role on HBO’s “Girls,” before he broke out as the villain Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The new spot will mark Snickers’ third consecutive Super Bowl appearance and fifth appearance overall.

Last year’s spot featured Willem Dafoe impersonating Marilyn Monroe, and 2015’s was the “Brady Bunch” parody starring and Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi.

The brand kicked off the “You’re Not You” campaign in an iconic ad starring Betty White, which ran during 2010’s Super Bowl. It followed in 2011’s game with an ad starring Roseanne Barr and Richard Lewis, but dropped out of the Super Bowl (as sister brand M&M’s stepped in) until 2015.
