Spot.IM Drives Mobile Engagement For Publishers

Social-engagement platform Spot.IM has introduced its first native Software Development Kit to drive mobile app engagement and monetization for publishers.

The new native kit makes Spot.IM’s solutions available to the public, so iOS and Android mobile app developers can monetize user-generated content via revshare.

The technology works to build social communities around digital content from publishers. Site visitors can leave comments and interact with others reading the same article in real time.

The social interactions also allow publishers to target ads alongside the articles and comments. The company claims it is the first to offer publishers a social-engagement solution for mobile apps with an integrated monetization feature.

“Audiences today only visit publisher sites for a few seconds before escaping to Facebook to discuss the content, and this is a huge challenge for publishers,” stated Nadav Shoval, cofounder and CEO at Spot.IM. The solution to the problem is “building communities to keep users engaged on publisher sites."

Last fall, Spot.IM closed a Series A funding round worth $13 million to build out its platform, led by Index Ventures, AltaIR Capital and Millhouse Capital.

The company is headquartered in New York with offices in Tel Aviv.
