'People' Podcast 'Flash Briefing' Available In Chevys

People magazine’s "Flash Briefing," a daily podcast on trending celebrity and entertainment news and human-interest stories, is now available in GM’s Chevrolet cars, via the audio entertainment app on the dashboard display screen.

People is the first entertainment news brand to launch in Chevy vehicles.

A People spokesperson told Publishers Daily: “The addition of the People Flash Briefing in Chevy vehicles demonstrates how People continues to extend the brand’s reach by providing our loyal audience with content on multiple platforms wherever and whenever they want it.”

Beginning today, owners of 2017 and 2018 model-year cars, trucks and crossovers that have compatible MyLink Infotainment Systems can launch the "People Flash Briefing" by downloading the free People app, located in the Chevy Shop.

The process is the same way drivers find and select a radio station on the display screen. This will allow drivers to listen to the podcast “without touching, plugging-in or pairing their phone,” according to People.

A Wi-Fi connection is required to download and stream the app.

The Flash Briefing runs about five-to-seven minutes long and is hosted by Jeremy Parsons, who also hosts “People Now,” a daily live streaming news show.

The Chevy Shop update with the "PeopleFlash Briefing" will also rollout to new vehicles.
