AI To Be Used To Identify Guests As They Arrive At Royal Wedding

Artificial intelligence will be used to identify guests as they enter the chapel for the Royal Wedding on Saturday.

Sky News announced it will be deploying cloud-based machine learning and media services to name guests and add additional video content on the guests as they arrive.

The feature, ‘Royal Wedding: Who’s Who Live,” is accessible in the Sky News app or via skynews.com.

Sky News partnered with Amazon Web Services, GrayMedia and UI Centric for the AI implementation. As guests enter, AWS will capture the live video and send it to cloud-based AWS Media Services for multiscreen viewing optimization, with on-demand video being generated.

While that is happening,Sky will combine the GrayMeta data analysis platform with Amazon's recognition video and image analysis service for real-time identification of guests and tagging with related information.

“This new functionality allows Royal Wedding viewers greater insight into one of the biggest live events of the year, wherever they are,” stated David Gibbs, director of digital news and sports products.
