Microsoft Outlook/Hotmail Users Complain Of Service Outage

Microsoft Outlook users are suffering a service outage -- mostly in the UK -- according to downdetector.

The problem began at 7:57 a.m. EDT on Monday. Outlook and Hotmail account holders reported being able to log in or access emails. Hundreds of people have complained to downdetector.

“Same issues,” writes one in a post on downdetector. “Constantly being asked for password and no emails coming through. Not great for Monday morning when it’s your business account!!

“Unable to login to hotmail account on iPad, continuously getting edit settings, very frustrating,” adds another.

The outage does not appear to have hit the U.S. in a major way, but one user posts: “Still having issues at 11:04 AM in Florida. It is driving me crazy.

The impact on email marketing campaigns was not clear at deadline.

The Microsoft Office 365 portal says only: “We’re having issues, but we’re working on it,” but also says Outlook is up and running.

Barely one month ago, Azure/Microsoft Office 365 experienced an outage in the U.S. central Southern states that apparently was caused by a heating issue.

Microsoft Outlook reportedly has 400 million active users worldwide.
