Target shoppers looking for the perfectly sized artificial Christmas tree can now virtually place a tree in their home to select the right size.

Target’s “See It in Your Space” augmented reality feature in its mobile app now contains Christmas trees with an “AR” icon for customers to select.

The AR experience then uses the phone’s camera to show the product in true-to-life size much as furniture shoppers do in apps from companies including Ikea, Overstock.com and Wayfair.

Target has added other items such as furniture and rugs to the tree-shopping experience. And six holiday rooms in Target’s virtual 360-degree shopping feature have been added, showing holiday products in scale to be virtually placed in the shopper’s home.
