Omnicom Group’s Merkley+Partners has been awarded agency of record duties for health and fitness brand Performix after an informal review.
It’s the first time the brand has named an AOR and the assignment is effective immediately.
The agency, based in New York, will provide strategy, brand advertising and media planning and buying and data and analytics services across the client’s business lines.
Merkley will service the brand from its New York office but also have talent on-site at the Performix House gym, also in New York to activate social strategy and content generation.
Performix is best known for its line of supplements sold directly and through retailers. In addition to Performix House, it operates the veteran’s foundation FitOps, a training and certification program for veterans who want to become certified personal trainers.
“We’re excited to have Merkley+Partners join the team and creatively bring together these elements in a new and innovative way,” said Matt Hesse, CEO, Performix, a subsidiary of Corr-Jensen, which Hesse founded in 2008.
Merkley CEO Alex Gellert added that Performix is “an exciting challenger brand that is disrupting the fitness category. As their first AOR, we are excited to help them reach the next level of their business,” by connecting the company with a broad range of consumers.
