
Chart-topping singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran — a
self-declared lifelong Heinz Ketchup lover who has the Heinz logo tattooed on his arm — has teamed with the brand to create limited-edition “Edchup” bottles.
In addition to
replacing “Ketchup” with “Edchup,” the label of the bottles features a Sheeran-inspired emoji.
The special bottles, which can be purchased for $5 (plus $2.50 shipping)
on HeinzEdchup.com while supplies last, were announced on Instagram in time for National Ketchup Day
(June 5).
Sheeran’s devotion to the ketchup is far from news to his fans: Fully a third of @Heinz Instagram posters mention or tag Sheeran, according to Heinz.
If you’re
thinking that Sheeran couldn’t be a more perfect brand rep, here’s the capper: He had actually written an ad script for the ketchup brand, which he shared with Heinz.
