London ecommerce agency We Make Websites has opened a New York office, its first in the U.S.
The 10-year-old agency positions itself as a “go-to Shopify Plus agency” for international brands.
The agency has launched direct-to-consumer websites for PepsiCo, the BBC, The Economist and Penguin Books, among others.
Overseeing the U.S. office will be director and cofounder Alex O’Byrne. Partner-cofounder Piers Thorogood will head the agency's London office.
The New York office has already lined up some clients, including fancy candle maker Illume, as well as a toymaker and a “lifestyle brand” that apparently wouldn’t give the agency permission to use their names.
Clients are funny that way. “What?? Identify us by name and expose our whole strategy? You do that and we’re through!!!”
Seriously, that’s how some clients think. But hey, they have skin in the game, so who am I to argue?
