Wayfair has expanded its mobile shopping app, including
augmented reality enhancements, photo searching and a 3D room planner.
The app enhancements by the online home furnishing company coincide with a complete refresh of the Wayfair app.
“With more than half of our customers placing orders on a mobile device, we’re thrilled to deliver powerful new tools that make shopping for home easier, and reflect the evolution of
how consumers are shopping for their homes,” stated Matt Zisow, vice president of product management, experience design and analytics at Wayfair. “Consumers have the flexibility to
discover and visualize their favorite products, then design their rooms from start to finish, no matter where they are.”
Shoppers can use the AR and 3D tools to visualize how products
will look and fit in their space as well as take a photo of their room and visualize multiple products when not in the space.
The Search with Photo feature allows shoppers to toggle between
camera-based features with a swipe.
