After years of separate mobile shopping experiences, the Walmart Grocery app is being merged into the retailer’s main app.

Shoppers previously had to use different apps, one for shopping at Walmart and another for shopping for Walmart groceries.

The new combined app will include grocery items for pickup or delivery, according to a blog post by Janey Whiteside, executive vice president and chief customer officer at Walmart.

“For a busy mom, this means she can do everything in one app,” stated Whiteside. “She can order a last-minute birthday gift along with her groceries for same-day pickup or delivery.”

The app includes Walmart Pay and an item finder.

In coming weeks, Walmart Grocery will be added to Walmart.com desktop and mobile and the updated Walmart app is rolling out in phases.
