Three Seattle friends have developed a wearable device to reduce face touching in light of the coronavirus.

The Immutouch Band can be worn on either wrist and vibrates when the user’s hand enters a recalibrated position, such as near the mouth, nose or eyes.

The artificial intelligence startup leveraged existing hardware designs from a previous project.

“A problem the size of COVID-19 requires everyone to do their part, large or small,” states CEO Matthew Toles, one of the friends.  “The three of us happened to be uniquely well equipped to tackle this one task and felt it was our duty to at least try.”

Toles says his father has an autoimmune disease.
