Miles Traveled Daily Per American Continues Trending Upward, Approaching Normalcy


The average number of miles traveled daily per American continues to trend upward, approach levels that preceded stay-at-home pandemic restrictions, according to the latest weekly installment of out-of-home media planning data from Geopath and Intermx.

The average number of miles traveled daily was 13.4 for the week beginning May 11. While that's down 26% from the most recent high (18.0 miles daily for teh week beginning March 2), it's up 38% since it bottomed out the week of April 6 (an average of 9.7 miles daily).

    Would be interesting to see miles weighted with Household Income to see how much purchasing power is spending time in the car now vs. before covid.
