Cloud data management provider Informatica has acquired Compact Solutions LLC. Terms were not disclosed.

The purchase will provide Informatica with expanded metadata-driven AI and automation, the firm says.

In addition, it will further the firm’s strategy to “deliver on Data 4.0 for today’s CDOs, helping them not only survive, but thrive in the rapidly changing business landscape today,” states Amit Walia, CEO of Informatica. 

Informatica also will now have the advanced scanners formerly known as Compact Solutions MetaDex. They will become part of the Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog.

This will provide a detailed view of data lineage while eliminating “black boxes,” the company says. 

These capabilities cover mainframe enterprise systems, multi-vendor ETL, hand-coded scripts, BI tools and other types of enterprise data, it adds.
