SAP SE, a provider of enterprise application software, has signed a deal to acquire Emarsys, provider of an omnichannel customer engagement platform. Terms were not disclosed.
The
combined services will help brands achieve hyperpersonalized customer engagements across channels, while linking commerce signals with the back office, the company says.
The purchase is
expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020.
“Once the transaction closes, SAP will enable brands to connect every part of their business to the customer, including experience
data,” states Christian Klein, CEO of Waldorf, Germany-based SAP.
Based in Indianapolis, Emarsys is a cloud-based marketing platform. that helps brands deliver personalized
interactions via email, mobile, social, SMS and the web.
The company serves 1,500 customers around the globe, including several retail brands.
For example, children’s
apparel brand Hanna Andersson recently chose Emarsys to help it achieve one-on-one personalization. Women’s swimwear retailer Jolyn has also
engaged Emarsys to drive omnichannel personalization.
