TowerData Merges With FreshAddress, Creating A New Email ID Provider

Email identity platform TowerData LLC has merged with FreshAddress LLC, a provider of email list services, the firm announced on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed.

Private equity firm TZP Group is supporting the merger with a strategic investment.

Tom Burke, CEO of TowerData, along with an experienced executive team from both companies, will provide leadership to the combined organization.

Bill Kaplan, the co-founder and CEO of FreshAddress, will work with Burke on the integration of the companies, and remain as a Strategic Advisor.

The two firms have combined data assets totaling over 1.5 billion historical email and postal addresses linked to mobile IDs, cookies, demographics and over 1 billion monthly activity signals.

Seeking to provide expertise “in all things email, the companies will immediately start integrating products and services. TowerData clients will gain access to FreshAddresses SafeToSend and SafeToSend+ email verification, hygiene, and monitoring offering.

In addition, the firms will add features to their global email verification and deliverability services.

Last month, FreshAddress announced a tool, Email Change of Address (Auto ECOA) that it said can help brands reclaim 20% of their lapsed addresses.

The merged company is headquartered in New York with additional offices in Boston and Chicago and remote locations across the U.S. and internationally.

In 2019, TowerData acquired Xverify, an email validation specialist. Burke said at the time that the purchase would help TowerData more accurately validate email addresses, allowing marketers to “combat fraud and improve deliverability to the inbox.”
