New ViacomCBS, Altice Carriage Deal Includes Streaming Services

ViacomCBS and Altice USA have announced a carriage renewal agreement that includes ViacomCBS’ streaming services, as well as its broadcast stations and cable networks.

Altice’s Optimum and Suddenlink customers will now be able to sign up for Paramount+, Showtime OTT, Pluto TV, BET+ and Noggin through those services, as well as continue to receive programming from CBS stations and cable networks including Paramount Network, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET.

As ViacomCBS and other content-side media players shift to focusing on streaming, they must work out deals that satisfy cable and satellite TV operators already losing revenue to the growing number of cord-cutters.

“As Altice USA continues to focus on providing our Optimum and Suddenlink customers with a robust array of content to meet their evolving entertainment needs, we are pleased to reach a new agreement with ViacomCBS that ensures the continued delivery of their networks plus added rights to the ViacomCBS streaming services portfolio,” stated Yossi Benchetrit, Altice USA’s chief programming and procurement officer.

The companies also said they will continue to collaborate on addressable media and advanced advertising capabilities.

Specific terms of the deal were not revealed.
