Disney Restructures TV Marketing, Creative And Communications Units

Walt Disney’s TV operations -- ABC, Hulu, and Disney General Entertainment -- has revamped its marketing, creative and communications units with a number of major executive promotions.

“This new structure will allow us to break down silos so we can better support our teams and vast content portfolio,” said Shannon Ryan, president of content marketing for Hulu and Disney General Entertainment in a press release.

Erin Weir has been promoted to executive vice president of marketing, ABC and General Entertainment, heading up campaign planning and strategy for experiential, digital and owned assets of ABC Entertainment. Weir, who had been senior vice president, adds ABC News, Disney Television Studios and Syndication responsibilities.

Also, Aaron Goldman has been upped to executive vice president of creative marketing, ABC & General Entertainment. Previously, he was senior vice president. Goldman now heads the “Creative Center of Excellence” (COE) for all brands, including ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Freeform, Hulu Originals and Onyx Collective.

At Hulu, Barrie Gruner moves to executive vice president of Hulu Originals marketing and publicity. She had been vice president.

Now, in addition to strategy, campaign management, communications, creative, media, social, events and talent relations for Hulu Originals, she adds marketing/publicity for Onyx Collective. Also at Hulu, Spencer Peeples is now senior vice president of Hulu Originals marketing and awards. He had been vice president at the company.

Naomi Bulochnikov, senior vice president of communications/publicity for ABC and General Entertainment, will add news, studio, syndication and cable network Freeform to her existing responsibilities.
