Major Shifts At Omnicom, Simm Named COO Of Parent Company

Omnicom Group has elevated its top media executive—Daryl Simm, CEO Omnicom Media Group—to Chief Operating Officer of the parent company. The role is new. Succeeding Simm at OMG is Florian Adamski, global CEO at Omnicom media agency OMD.

In his new role at the holding company, Simm, would appear to be a candidate in Omnicom's evolving CEO succession plans. He will work directly with Chairman and CEO John Wren to oversee business operations across Omnicom. Wren, 69, has been CEO of the company since 1997.

A 20-year veteran of the company Simm was founding CEO of Omnicom Media Group, taking it from a start-up to an operating division with more than 20,000 staff globally and over $30 billion in client billings. Before joining Omnicom, Simm served at Procter & Gamble, where he was General Manager of P&G Productions and vice president of Worldwide Media.
