Constant Contact To Acquire Australian SMS, Email Platform Vision6

Digital marketing platform Constant Contact will acquire Vision6, a provider of SMS and email marketing software based in Brisbane, Australia, the firm announced on Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.

The transaction, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022, brings together two firms that serve small businesses, government agencies, marketing agencies and nonprofits. And it marks a move by Constant Contact to achieve growth in the Australian market.

“The acquisition bring us a strong management team with a deep commitment to serving Australian customers,” says Frank Vella, CEO of Waltham, Massachusetts-based Constant Contact.

For its part, Vision6 hopes to leverage the "depth" of Constant Contact’s solutions, says co-founder and CEO Mathew Myers.

Founded in 2001, Vision6 2001 provides marketing tools combined with data security to thousands of clients.

Constant Contact has evolved from being an email marketing company only to a firm that also helps small businesses with social media, SEO and other channels. In 2020, it announced a rebranding and added several ecommerce and website tools.

More recently, it announced an upgrade of its Campaign Builder digital marketing platform to help SMBs with their email.

Last year, Constant Contact was spun off as a stand-alone company from its prior owner Endurance International Group Holdings Inc. following a $400 million equity investment by Clearlake Capital Group and Siris Capital Group.
