Comcast Business Airs Inspiring 'Ready For Anything' Spot At Olympics

The latest Comcast “Ready for Anything” spot focuses on Team USA Paralympian snowboarder Mike Schultz.

The work, created by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, runs today through March 13, covering the 2022 Olympics and Paralympics, airing on NBC and its affiliates.

During both games, Comcast Business will salute Team USA and business owners nationwide.

The 60-second spot highlights Team USA Paralympian snowboarder Mike Schultz. Shultz, already a successful snowboarder, was involved in a serious snowmobile accident during a snocross race in 2008 that resulted in his left leg amputated below the knee.

As Schultz says in the spot: “There are some days nothing can prepare you for.” He explains it’s not about what life puts you through, “but how you react.” And his reaction was inspiring.

Provided with a prosthetic leg that wasn’t built for the fast-paced action sport he loved, Schultz designed and built his own. He invented Moto Knee, an adaptive prosthetic used by military personnel, athletes and other amputees who want to maintain an active lifestyle.

Schultz’s determination led to a gold and medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in snowboarding. He also established his own prosthetics business, BioDapt Inc.

The spot ends with “Comcast Business salutes Mike and all those who believe in what’s next.”

Eileen Diskin, CMO-SVP, Comcast Business, said the ad isn't just about Schultz's journey, however impressive. "It’s about resilience and adaptability."

Schultz will compete as part of Team USA Paralympic snowboarding on March 6–7 in snowboard cross and on March 11–12 for banked slalom. Of note, every Paralympic snowboarder in the 2022 Winter Games will use his invention.

This isn’t the only commercial Comcast Business will run during this year’s Olympic Games. The brand will air various spots that push the theme: be ready for what’s next. Stories range from businesses tackling a busy winter to personal stories of business owners.

"Every athlete has a story. But not all of them have one like this — an inventor and entrepreneur, running his own business while competing in the games against people using his own products," said Jim Elliott, executive creative director, Goodby Silverstein & Partners. "Mike’s tenacity and mindset are exactly what Comcast Business stands for."

In December 2021, the Biden administration announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics over China's human-rights record. It was joined by Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Canada and Lithuania.
