Mars Retains GroupM's MediaCom, Names Essence To Handle Biddable Media


GroupM’s MediaCom has retained Mars Inc.’s $1 billion media services account, following an internal review. The new contract, effective this morning, runs through the end of 2025.

In a related move, Mars Inc. expanded its relationship with GroupM, appointing MediaCom sister shop Essence as its “biddable media” management agency.

Rankin Carroll, Chief Brand & Content Officer at Mars Wrigley and Executive Sponsor for Media, Mars Inc., said in a statement announcing the reappointment:

"We were impressed by WPP's commitment to evolving their own integrated team to deliver that vision, building on our trusted partnership with MediaCom but adding in fresh, digital-first thinking from other GroupM partners, including Essence."
