Odds are you didn't know that National Swimming Pool Day falls every year on July 11.
Not exactly a major marketing event -- unless you’re High Noon, E&J Gallo’s vodka-based hard seltzer brand, and Swimply, the “Airbnb for pools.”
The two brands marked the occasion today by announcing an upcoming joint promotion. Starting at, yes, high noon ET July 15, the first 50 people (21+, of course) who enter a sweepstakes at HighNoonSwimplySummer.com will receive use of a private swimming pool for a day.
In case you don’t see the symmetry between High Noon and Swimply, it’s natural, says Bunim Laskin, co-founder and chief executive officer of the four-year-old Swimply. “Both companies are at the heart of summer culture, and promote fun in the sun with friends and family.’’

“We can't help but be obsessed about elevating everything about our fans' summers,” adds Brandon Lieb, vice president at Spirit of Gallo, which launched High Noon three years ago. “Our partnership with Swimply, who shares our sunny outlook, allows us to continue treating our fans to epic summertime experiences.”
Indeed, High Noon always seems to be in a summery mood.
The brand’s full name is “High Noon Sun Sips” and it adopted the advertising tagline, “Sun’s Up,” last summer..” That line has stayed this summer and High Noon is also currently pushing a limited-edition pool pack.
That brings us back to the High Noon x Swimply Pool Day, which will provide winners with a pool package of their own. Unlike the pool pack in stores, this one won’t include any High Noon, but winners will get a $20 Visa gift card, presumably to buy the brand.
They’ll also get a $500 Swimply gift card, which, with pools renting at an average of $45 an hour, should result in some 10 hours of pool time.
And they’ll get a $50 gift card from Tropical Bros., which earlier this season introduced High Noon-branded women’s and men’s swimsuits and a Hawaiian shirt. The online retailer is selling the men’s swimsuit at a buck under $50, but the other two items at $52.95.
High Noon and Swimply are also promising the winners a cooler, koozie and other merchandise.
