Google Adds Filter Chips To Google Contacts Like The Ones In Gmail

Google is reportedly adding filter chips to Google Contacts, similar to the ones already present in Gmail.

But the new search capability is apparently in an A/B test mode, Android Central reports.

The new feature in Google Contacts will allow users to sort through their contacts. They will be able to search for individuals by phone contacts, email contacts or company, when the tool is fully available, Android Central continues.

The chips will show up under the search bar when a person is looking for a specific contact.

Google introduced this search function to Gmail on the web in 2020, and to Android phones last year.

But Contacts has fewer chips than Gmail's mobile and web versions, Android Central adds.

Google had apparently not responded to requests for comment by Android Central.
