The changes were approved by the Groupe’s Supervisory Board, led by former company CEO Maurice Lévy. Lévy issued a statement expressing the board’s “great satisfaction” with Sadoun’s achievements as CEO over the past several years. He succeeded Lévy in the role in June of 2017.

“The results achieved after bold moves such as the creation of the Marcel platform, the repositioning of Publicis Sapient and the acquisition and successful integration of Epsilon command admiration,” Lévy stated.

It was Sadoun’s idea to add the four new members to the management board to help prepare the company for the “next century.” It’s known as the Directoire+ and the additions were approved by the Supervisory board. This spring Sadoun disclosed that he underwent surgery for the successful removal of a cancerous tumor.

Sadoun stated: “In the past five years, Publicis has faced many challenges, but thanks to the incredible efforts of our people and very strong foundation built over almost a century by Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet and Maurice Lévy, today we are a stronger, bigger and better company. With a new management team, the Directoire +, that uniquely combines the best of data, creative, media, and technology, to the Power the One, we are ready to further partner with our clients in their transformation, and help them lead the way in the new age of commerce.”

Sadoun issued a video outlining the changes for employees which can be seen here.
