Coveo AI Search App Gets Special Nod From SAP Commerce Cloud

SAP has endorsed Coveo’s artificial intelligence (AI) search and recommendations platform for Commerce Cloud, giving the app credibility across its platform and joint promotional status to SAP Commerce Cloud customers.

Coveo AI Search and Recommendations platform for SAP Commerce Cloud joins the select category of solutions from SAP’s partner ecosystem available in the SAP Store. It means the app went through vigorous testing, according to Brian McGlynn, GM at Coveo.

Coveo has used natural language processing (NLP), a form of AI, for years to understand queries like “I’m looking for a black shirt” or “show me women’s shirts for less than $500.” The technology can also understand things like whether it’s a golf or formal shirt. Based on what they looked at in the past recommendations are made.

McGlynn said Coveo developers built a product that integrates into the SAP Commerce Platform to make it easy for customers to implement.

For Coveo, the app, which delivers search, recommendations, personalization and merchandising across digital experiences, is "a big deal due to the invitation only status. It means Coveo was invited by SAP to go through extra testing to ensure security and more, and have executive sponsorship from someone within SAP.

Coveo AI Search and Recommendations aims to improve product discovery and conversions through predictive and relevant search, AI-powered listing pages, and dynamic navigation. The platform, theoretically, increases the average order value by helping shoppers discover more of the products through personalized experiences.

The goal is to help B2B and B2C commerce customers benefit from AI-powered search, recommendations, personalization, and merchandising AI models, including testing and analytics.

Some 45% of customer experience executives cite keeping up with changing customer expectations as one of the biggest challenges these days, and that increased competition requires differentiating the company based on customer experiences, according to recent survey from Aberdeen.

In March, Coveo introduced a new generative AI response generation feature that leverages the unified and secure indexing, search, and relevance capabilities of Coveo’s AI platform and combines them with Large Language Models (LLMs).

It makes the response using large language models applicable in enterprises, where security, privacy, real-time sources of truth, relevance and factuality are all key imperatives, the company explained in a press release.
