A new deal between
DirecTV for Business and Amazon Prime Video will allow Yankees fans to view 20 of the Major League Baseball team’s games in bars, restaurants and other commercial venues in the team’s home
region: New York State, Connecticut, north and central New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania.
Prime Video has exclusive streaming rights to the 20 games, but the deal will allow
“thousands” of DirecTV Business customers to use their existing satellite equipment to show them, per the companies.
Last year, no commercial venues were able to show the
Yankees games, due to the Prime Video rights.
Prime Video’s streaming of this season’s games started on April 4.
