
Jameson, an award-wining Irish whiskey, selected Ogilvy as its new
global lead creative agency.
Ogilvy’s remit will include strategic and creative duties, led by a borderless team. The agency won the account after a competitive pitch. The assignment
expands Ogilvy's global relationship with France-based Pernod Ricard, one of the largest liquor companies in the world.
TBWA and TBWA Dublin previously handled the Jameson account.
The triple-distilled Jameson has a 67% market share of the Irish whiskey
category, selling more than 10 million cases in 2022.
Jameson is distilled and matured at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland.

Brendan Buckley, global marketing director at Irish Distillers, said the
brand appreciated Ogilvy's "pairing a global outlook with local cultural relevance in our key markets."
Jameson is the world's most popular Irish whiskey, but the brand was founded by a
Scotsman, John Jameson. in 1780, he opened the Bow Street distillery. Jameson moved its operation to Midleton, Country Cork, in 1975.
Jameson is a blended Irish whiskey, a category made by
mixing any combination of single-malt, single-grain and single-pot still whiskeys. Jameson whiskey is created from a blend of single-pot still and grain whiskeys.
This year, Ogilvy, a WPP
company, was named Network of the Year at the Clio Awards and The One Show. Its client roster includes, among others, Corona, Volkswagen, Kotex, Jimmy Dean and Zippo.
